Thanks, Gini! Self-sabotaging and self-defeating behavior always reminds me of Kathleen Norris' quotation:

“In middle age we are apt to reach the horrifying conclusion that all sorrow, all pain, all passionate regret and loss and bitter disillusionment are self-made.”

Isn't that striking? So much pain, regret, loss is self-made. They come from our own self-sabotage and self-defeating behaviors. Amazing...

These are so great, Laurie - I love all of them. I think the most important one that underlies all of the rest is looking at self-defeating beliefs. Under every self-sabotaging behavior - whether it be busy work, avoiding conflict, or taking responsibility for another's success over your own - there is a limiting belief. Sometimes its a deep core belief that needs some examination to unearth and release.

Over the years as I've released one limiting belief after another, I've become freer and freer to pursue my dreams.
